6 years ago today, I, like millions of other British people, woke up to terrible news…
#Brexit.
6 years ago I cried. Today Brexit doesn’t make me cry, but it does make me angry and I still feel really disappointed in my country.
I know a lot of people who voted for Brexit - people of my parents’ age, who seemed to be voting out of nostalgia for a lost past.
I’ve asked them, in all seriousness, if they have seen any concrete benefits to Brexit. I’m really interested in the answer, but apart from “we’ve got our sovereignty back”, I haven’t ever had a real answer.
For me, Brexit is just a sad administrative nightmare.
But the question I’m asking here is, do you have concrete examples of how you have benefitted from Brexit?
