One of my French clients once told me that the British team she worked with thought that the French team members were too negative.
Her take on this was that it provoked more in-depth discussions and made their solutions a lot more robust in the end.
In my own experience, although discussions often don't start with a yes, it's nearly always possible to find a solution.
